A young woman I know, who is 14 years old, went to live with her father and step-mother because she was unhappy living with her mom. She had been hospitalized with anorexia the year before and still had to be on a strict diet and go to counseling.
One day she told her step-mother she had had a dream.
She said, “Mom and I were standing at the edge of a high cliff. Mom kept saying, ‘Jump off. Jump off.'”
Her step-mother said, “What did you do?”
She answered, “I jumped.”
“Mom didn’t know, but I did. I had wings,” and she smiled.
This girl had given her life to God when she was 10. I think that dream was from him. He was showing her she could fly and not be afraid.
When we give our lives to God,
we have wings.
“They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4
